Rules of the Cockfight:
Each night, the first cockfight will begin at 10:00 p.m. Pacific Time. If a bird is not ready to fight at the time of his match, the bird forfeits the match.
Spurs are allowed, but the length of each one may not exceed more twice the length of the cock's foot, and may not show any signs of rust. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of the match.
No cockfight will ever end in a draw. Cockfights will continue until: 1) one cock is dead, 2) one cock has fallen and does not get up after one minute, or 3) one cock turns tail and flees the arena circle. All decisions regarding the outcome of a match will be made by El Cristo, whose word is final.
Results of the night's matches will be posted to the web site at 12:00 A.M. each night, or after the last fight is over, whichever is later.
Betting rules:
When placing a bet, you have up to four (4) options to choose from to bet on the outcome of the match. You may always bet on which cock will win the contest, but you may instead choose to bet that a cock will not only win, but also slay his opponent. Since a cock is only likely to be slain about every other match, the odds for this latter choice bear higher odds, and thus a higher payout.
You may not bet twice on the same match. For instance, you may not bet that both one cock will win, and simultaneously that the other cock will also win. Likewise, you may not bet that one cock will win and that he will slay his opponent. If you want to bet that a cock will slay his opponent, it is enough to place that bet alone—in slaying an opponent, a cock wins the match automatically. However, if a cock does slay his opponent, all bets that the cock would win and all bets that the cock would slay his opponent are considered winning bets.
Explanation of odds:
Each bet carries with it certain odds, which are printed beside the checkbox for each selection. This number indicates the payout upon a succesful bet. For instance, if El Cativo is matched against Killdeath, and the odds for El Cativo to win are listed as 140, then the payout for a $100 bet would be $140 if El Cativo wins the match. Likewise, if the odds for Killdeath to slay El Cativo are 220, then the payout on a $10 bet would be $22 if Killdeath kills El Cativo.
